Brampton Engineering (BE) today announced that they have sold their third Aquafrost® (water quenched) multi-layer blown film line in 2013.

Brampton Engineering Inc. (BE) today announced that they have sold their third Aquafrost® (water quenched) multi-layer blown film line in 2013. The company now has four customers, in four different regions of the world, with multiple AquaFrost® lines. This sale also represents the 17th sale of the AquaFrost® solution since its introduction to the market. Along with this latest sale, BE has also sold a number of its multi-layer AeroFrost® (air cooled) blown barrier film lines in 2013.

The commercially proven AquaFrost® blown film line rapidly quenches the blown film in a water bath, preventing the formation of crystalline structures. The resulting film has gloss and haze qualities that are superior to those achieved with a cast film process, making it ideal for retail packaging and medical applications. In tests undertaken in partnership with leading resin companies it was proven that this type of film has many advantages over both conventional blown and cast films; including excellent tensile strength, elongation characteristics and puncture resistance. BE pioneered this remarkable innovation in the industry, and continues to invest in the AquaFrost® solution, recently introducing a number of innovations that increase productivity, and therefore the return on investment on an AquaFrost® blown film line.

AquaFrost® blown film performs significantly better than cast film for thermoformed packaging; not only does the film have improved clarity and gloss, it also offers enhanced softness and higher puncture resistance. Furthermore, our customers see improved economics due to very low scrap rates and superior production rates. The high gloss finish and ease of conversion to bags and pouches makes the film highly attractive to the food industry.
