Why Brampton Engineering
Founded in 1973 with an entrepreneurial spirit, BE developed over the years into the company that leads the technology for blown film coextrusion.
Until 1989 coextrusion was limited to 5 layers using cylindrical dies with concentric mandrels.
A few 7 layer dies were produced using the same design criteria, but they proved inadequate for producing quality barrier structures. This is when we introduced the SCD® (Streamlined Coextrusion Die) to the market and the rest became history.
The successful design of the SCD® dominated the 7-layer market and catapulted Brampton Engineering into international market. The success of the SCD® soon brought requests from customers for additional layers. We became the first company to deliver 8, 9, 10, and 11-layer blown film systems.
We introduced AquaFrost®, a water quenched blown film process, which builds on our existing technology and expands the possibilities for coextruded blown films. AquaFrost® films are being used successfully in food and medical packaging applications around the world. They continue to gain market acceptance and find use in new and demanding flexible packaging applications.
